MY PROJECTS
Welcome to my portfolio!
I wanted to build this page to showcase my passion for problem-solving and innovation. I will try include a range of projects, from all things mechatronics and robotics, to design and creative works. Whether you are here to learn more about my background and experience, or just browsing for inspiration, I hope you will find something that interests you!
Green Guide Solutions - BinSight
Introducing BinSight — a smart waste management system that makes proper waste disposal simple, insightful, and actionable. BinSight utilises advanced object detection and machine learning algorithms to identify types of waste in real time, providing instant feedback to users about where their rubbish belongs. Designed for deployment across councils, schools, and businesses, BinSight aims to tackle the confusion and make waste sorting intuitive for everyone.
UAV Payload for Target Detection and Air Quality
Advanced UAV payload designed to autonomously handle target detection, soil sampling, and air quality monitoring in challenging GPS-denied environments. This project integrates cutting-edge sensor technology with responsive data visualisation, making it a complete solution for environmental monitoring.
EKF SLAM Applied to a Mobile Robot
As part of a recent university project, I undertook the exciting challenge of designing a robot capable of performing EKF SLAM. By leveraging computer vision, the robot was able to autonomously explore and map its environment, while accurately estimating its own position. This project exemplified the use for EKF SLAM in real-world robotic applications.
CNC Machine
The purpose of this projects was to have a bit of fun and add another machine to my arsenal of tools. This machine has allowed me to quickly prototype flat and 3D components for personal and university projects. Although it took me some time to put together, its definitely paid itself back!
My 3D printers
3D printers are awesome. They can help save time & money, empower creativity, and I think they are just heaps of fun. I now have three 3D printers: an Ender 3 V2 and two Original Prusa i3 MK2s. These printers helped kickstart my love for design, aiding me in building things I couldn’t have dreamed of, even with all my other tools combined.
Electric Motor Build
The purpose of this project was to design and build a permanent-magnet direct-current (PMDC) motor. A lot of effort put into making this project work, with late nights and close calls on deadlines. Thank you for taking the time to read!
Machine Learning: Flower Identifier
The aim of this project was to explore machine learning as an application of artificial intelligence, utilising computers to adapt, learn, and improve based on their environments and experience.
AI Solver: Weighted Sokoban Puzzle (A*)
The purpose of this project was to design and implement an intelligent planning agent for a weighted variant of the Sokoban problem puzzle.
Walking Robot - Linkages
The project aim was to design, build, and analyse a four legged walkable robot using a single geared motor and components found on campus. A four-bar linkage system was used.
Mini Tone Adjusting Piano Keyboard
The aim for this project was to learn and play around with a microcontroller-based device using various types of inputs, outputs, and features of the Arduino using C/C++; not the Arduino in-built functions. I had fun experimenting with this and actually ended up learning some cool things about how to play with vibrations for the buzzer to make different noises and how then to program it!
Line Following Robot
The aim of this project was to design a Line following robot project with custom designed chassis, attachments, PCBs, and code, used to traverse a black and white track with coloured markers to signal the start, finish and speed zone locations.
